Job summary

KBR Careers is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to safeguard national security networks for our National Security Solutions team. The role emphasizes compliance, risk management and secure system design across the lifecycle, on-site in Virginia.

Candidates must hold TS/SCI with polygraph, a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity/IS/CS, and at least seven years of experience reviewing security plans and implementing RMF/NIST controls. Competitive compensation in the Virginia area.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with polygraph and 7+ years of related experience.
• Experience reviewing security plans for IT systems.
• Knowledge of RMF and NIST frameworks.
• Ability to brief technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience supporting system accreditation/authorization processes.

Responsibilities

• Support system owners and project managers through cybersecurity approval and compliance processes.
• Review technical architectures, deployment methodologies, and network designs.
• Interpret cybersecurity and data protection requirements for stakeholders.
• Ensure cybersecurity requirements are integrated throughout the system lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain security documentation and compliance artifacts.
• Assess system risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Provide cybersecurity guidance to engineers and non-technical partners.
• Support security reviews, audits and accreditation activities.
