Independent Software is seeking an Information System Security Officer in Annapolis Junction, MD for a full-time role supporting information assurance programs. You will enforce security standards, coordinate policies, and maintain compliance across programs.

Requires 2–4 years ISSO experience, DoD 8570 IAT Level I or higher, and TS/SCI with Polygraph; strong analytic, communications, and team leadership skills; HS diploma with experience or BS in CS.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years ISSO experience on programs of similar scope and complexity
• Experience with security tools, encryption techniques/tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communications skills and the ability to lead a team
• Education: HS Diploma with 4+ years experience or BS in CS or related
• DoD 8570 IAT Level I or higher certification
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required

Responsabilités

• Support an information assurance program for a program, organization, system, or enclave's information security program.
• Coordinate, implement, and enforce information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
• Maintain operational security posture to ensure policies, standards, and procedures are followed.
• Monitor IDS to identify security issues for remediation.
• Conduct audits to ensure secure operation and policy compliance.
• Develop, test, and operate security tools including firewalls and antivirus systems.
• Research, evaluate, test, and implement new security software or devices.
• Communicate alerts to agencies regarding intrusions and compromises.
