University of Michigan Information and Technology Services is seeking an Information Security Supervisor for RISC and Disaster Recovery Planning on the Ann Arbor campus. The role leads staff delivering risk assessments, security consultations, and disaster recovery planning, ensuring timely, high‑quality security services to campus units.

The supervisor will set priorities, develop staff, and strengthen relationships with campus partners, while guiding risk communication and outcome tracking.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or a related field.
• At least six years of IT or information security experience.
• Two years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience conducting or leading security risk assessments or consultations.
• Experience with security in higher education or large decentralized organizations.
• Experience with disaster recovery or business continuity planning.
• Experience reviewing security of third‑party vendors or services.
• Ability to communicate security concepts to stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise, coach, and develop staff across RISC and Disaster Recovery Planning functions.
• Manage incoming requests and workloads to ensure timely, consistent service.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and report on service demand, progress, and outcomes.
• Provide input to leadership on staffing needs, service priorities, and budget planning.
• Guide security risk assessments and consultations with campus units; communicate findings clearly.
• Lead and improve security review processes for third‑party services and contracts.
• Build relationships with campus units to emphasize shared responsibility for security.
• Support education outreach and ongoing conversations about security risks and resources.
• Contribute input into training content to reflect current threats and policies.
• Coordinate with ITS and university teams to strengthen disaster recovery planning.
