Job summary

Excellus BCBS is seeking an Information Security & Cybersecurity Engineer to develop, maintain, and coordinate the organization’s security program. You will provide risk management, compliance services, and consulting across business lines, spanning Security Operations, Governance, and IAM.

The role demands expertise across security controls, incident triage, and collaboration with management, supporting HIPAA and COBIT conformity in a large healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience accepted.
• Hands-on experience with operating systems including Windows, Unix/Linux.
• Familiarity with encryption, PKI, and security controls across systems and apps.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning, incident response, and security audits.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate organization-wide security infrastructure.
• Support information security risk management and compliance activities.
• Enforce security policies and monitor risk across programs.
• Assist in audits, governance, and third-party risk assessments.
• Provide SME guidance on distributed system and application security.
