Job summary

SBS CyberSecurity is seeking an Information Security Consultant to plan and implement security measures for clients. The role requires staying current on hackers’ methodologies, regulatory requirements, and evolving threats, and delivering tailored cybersecurity strategies and documentation.

Remote-friendly role with occasional travel; 3+ years in cybersecurity consulting and certifications preferred. You will work with banking and other regulated industries, delivering reporting and advisory

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in Cybersecurity/Information Security Consulting or equivalent.
• Experience with security frameworks (NIST, FFIEC, CIS Controls).
• Knowledge of risk assessments, IT audits, and regulatory examinations.

Responsibilities

• Provide Information Security Services including risk assessment, policy development, disaster recovery planning, incident response planning, and training.
• Support AI adoption for client environments and advise on security strategy.
• Assist with regulatory IT examination processes and board reporting.
• Communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage projects and client relationships, and participate in audits as needed.
• Educate clients on SBS services, processes, TRAC modules, and methodologies.

The Information Security Consultant is responsible for planning and implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data. This role requires staying up-to-date on the latest intelligence, including hackers' methodologies, technology and security trends, regulatory requirements, and vulnerabilities. The consultant must understand each client’s needs and provide tailored cybersecurity expertise, project management, program and documentation development, and decision-making regarding cybersecurity controls.

What You’ll Do

• Information Security Services: Provide services such as IT Risk Assessment, Policy Development, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Planning, Incident Response Planning, Security Awareness Training, IT Strategic Planning, Ransomware Assessment, Cybersecurity Framework Assessments, Vendor Management Oversight, Emergency Preparedness Tabletop Testing, etc.
• Artificial Intelligence: Support clients in integrating AI within current environments.
• Proactive Strategic Planning: Advise clients on developing and implementing robust information security strategies aligned with industry best practices.
• Regulatory IT Examination: Assist and consult clients through regulatory IT examination processes.
• Committee and Board Meetings: Participate in meetings to explain report findings.
• Communication: Convey technical knowledge to both technical and non-technical customers, including Senior Management and the Board of Directors; regularly provide written and verbal specifics to customers regarding their Information Security Program.
• Project Management: Facilitate project management within accounts through regular communication and relationship-building.
• IT Audits: Assists with IT Audits as necessary.
• Education: Educate customers on SBS services processes, methodologies, and TRAC software modules.
• Adaptability: Adapt to changing needs, new regulations, and internal business efficiencies.
• Reporting: Deliver reports and communications in a timely manner.

• Emergency Preparedness: Incident response, business continuity, disaster recovery, backups and testing, pandemic preparedness.
• Risk Assessments: IT assets, vendors, business continuity, cybersecurity.
• Experience: 3 years in Cybersecurity/Information Security Consulting, Audit, IT Managed Services, or equivalent educational qualifications.
• Education: Graduate degree in Information Security, Information Assurance, Information Technology, or related fields. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Security, Cyber Operations, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• Certifications: Preferred certifications include CISM, CISA or similar.
• Industry Experience: Preferred experience with U.S.-based small to medium-sized Banking Institutions.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This is a full-time position. This role would require occasional travel. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. On rare occasions, this position may require some after-work hours due to workload or tight deadline.

Working Conditions

Primarily remote-based with some travel required. The role involves working with management, various business units, and clients to protect data and information from cyber-attacks.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to sit, use keyboard and mouse (or alternative input device), use telephone, and drive. Travel

This position requires up to 25% travel. Valid driver’s license required. Must also qualify for SBS insurance coverage.
