About the Role

Our client, a national leader in energy distribution, is seeking a highly skilled Information Security Architect to join their core security team based in **Upington, Northern Cape**. This role is primarily **on-site**, providing the opportunity to directly influence and implement robust security designs across the organization's critical infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing security solutions that protect company assets, data, and systems from cyber threats. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of various security domains, including network security, cloud security, application security, and data security, coupled with a strategic mindset for designing secure architectures. You will work closely with IT operations, development teams, and business stakeholders to ensure security is embedded into the design and implementation phases of all technology initiatives within **Upington**. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop secure enterprise-level IT infrastructure and application architectures.
• Define security requirements and standards for new systems, applications, and technology projects.

• Develop and maintain security architecture documentation, diagrams, and roadmaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a security architecture role.
• Proven experience designing and implementing security solutions for complex enterprise environments.
• Deep understanding of network security principles, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and secure network design.

• Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) solutions and concepts.
• Strong understanding of cryptography, data protection, and privacy regulations.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, CCSP, or TOGAF are highly desirable.
