Information Security Analyst

Pay Rate: $40 - $90 per hour / $95,000 - $185,000 per year

Security Clearance: Public Trust

Ops Tech Alliance (OTA) is seeking a skilled and motivated Information Security Analyst with a focus on developing cybersecurity challenges for cyber competitions. This role involves creating and executing competition challenges to enhance our cybersecurity operations. This position offers part-time opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan, design, and develop innovative, realistic, engaging, and technically demanding scenarios.
2. Execute and oversee the event, ensuring smooth operation and resolving technical issues.
3. Collaborate with team members to ensure challenges are comprehensive and aligned with current cybersecurity trends and threats.
4. Analyze feedback and results to refine and improve future competitions.
5. Provide technical support throughout the program lifecycle.
6. Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to keep challenges relevant.
7. Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
8. Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and frameworks.

Qualifications:

1. Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in information security or related roles.
3. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
4. Experience with cybersecurity competitions is highly desirable.
5. Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
6. Experience with penetration testing tools, red teaming, threat emulation, and exploit development.
7. Familiarity with modern development workflows, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and version control systems.
8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
9. Understanding of workforce development frameworks like NICE.
10. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
11. Experience designing cybersecurity challenges or Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions is highly desirable.
12. Certifications such as (ISC)2 CISSP, CEH, or SANS GIAC are a plus.
