Information Security Analyst
Pay Rate: $40 - $90 per hour / $95,000 - $185,000 per year
Security Clearance: Public Trust
Ops Tech Alliance (OTA) is seeking a skilled and motivated Information Security Analyst with a focus on developing cybersecurity challenges for cyber competitions. This role involves creating and executing competition challenges to enhance our cybersecurity operations. This position offers part-time opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and develop innovative, realistic, engaging, and technically demanding scenarios.
- Execute and oversee the event, ensuring smooth operation and resolving technical issues.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure challenges are comprehensive and aligned with current cybersecurity trends and threats.
- Analyze feedback and results to refine and improve future competitions.
- Provide technical support throughout the program lifecycle.
- Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to keep challenges relevant.
- Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and frameworks.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in information security or related roles.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
- Experience with cybersecurity competitions is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
- Experience with penetration testing tools, red teaming, threat emulation, and exploit development.
- Familiarity with modern development workflows, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and version control systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Understanding of workforce development frameworks like NICE.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience designing cybersecurity challenges or Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions is highly desirable.
- Certifications such as (ISC)2 CISSP, CEH, or SANS GIAC are a plus.
