Job summary

Allied Consultants, Inc., an Austin-based firm with over 34 years of experience delivering top-tier professionals to Texas State Agencies, seeks an experienced Information Security Analyst to join a high-impact technical services team.

You will plan, implement, and monitor security measures using the NIST Risk Management Framework and Texas security standards, performing security assessments and supporting security plans with agency personnel and outside vendors.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of information security management frameworks such as NIST RMF, NIST CSF, PCI-DSS, and Texas Information Security Standards.
• Experience working in security within a Federal or State environment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and monitors security measures using NIST RMF and Texas security frameworks.
• Performs security assessments and reviews of access needs and security violations.
• Supports the implementation of system security plans with agency personnel and vendors.
• Develops plans to safeguard configurations and data to meet emergency data processing needs.
• Monitors and maintains systems to protect data from unauthorized access.
• Assists in designing security applications and infrastructure program activities.
• May contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

Responsibilities

Work involves planning, implementing, and monitoring security measures using the NIST Risk Management Framework and Texas security frameworks for information systems and infrastructures. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

DUTIES

• Performs security assessments and reviews of account permissions, computer data access needs, security violations, and programming changes.
• Supports the implementation of computer system security plans with agency personnel and outside vendors.
• Develops plans to safeguard computer configuration and data files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs.
• Monitors and maintains systems and procedures to protect data systems and databases from unauthorized access.
• Research systems and procedures for the prevention, detection, containment, and correct of data security breaches.
• Assists in designing and deploying security applications and infrastructure program activities.
• May develop information technology disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Performs related work as assigned.
