Job Description:


The Center for Learning Resources, Library, Media, and Instructional Technology seeks a Librarian to provide reference services face-to-face and online and collaborate with academic departments in assigned liaison areas. The candidate will oversee the information literary program and is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, program assessment, and delivering course-related instruction, on the main campus and other WCC locations. The candidate is expected to collaborate with faculty to develop instruction tailored to course assignments, program marketing, lead librarian information literacy meetings, communicate best practices, develop online tutorials, Libguides, and instructional materials.


Flexibility in performing various tasks to meet the evolving needs of the library is required. Knowledge and commitment to the goals and mission of the community college and evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students required, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.



Requirements:


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a Master's degree (MLS or MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution. The successful candidate for this role will have expertise in information literacy theory and practice, and knowledge of best practices in assessment, as well as demonstrated experience with spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), data analysis, and reporting. All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse community college student populations.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: It is strongly preferred that the candidate have a minimum of two years of information literacy instruction in an academic setting, as well as supervisory or management experience in an academic library. Demonstrated experience with instructional technologies used in academic libraries such as BrightSpace(D2L), ALMA/Primo, databases, citation management software, Teams, and Springshare is also preferred.



Additional Information:


SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $75,170. Additional compensation with seniority steps maximize at a salary of $88,234. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, a choice of defined benefit or defined contribution pension plan, generous leave benefits, and access to tax sheltered annuities and a deferred compensation plan.


POSITION EFFECTIVE: Spring 2025


WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule is 10:00am - 6:00pm. The incumbent is required to work evenings, as assigned, and weekends.
