Job summary

The U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) seeks a dynamic attorney to establish and lead the Information Law Unit (ILU).

The ILU Chief will supervise both attorney and non-attorney staff and coordinate programs such as FOIA responses, Privacy Act compliance, and records management, reporting directly to the General Counsel. This senior role demands proven leadership, strong written and oral communication, and extensive information-law experience to build and guide a new OSC unit in the District

Qualifications

• Must hold a professional law degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing in a state, DC, or Puerto Rico.

Responsibilities

• Supervise attorney and non-attorney staff within the Information Law Unit.
• Oversee OSC programs including FOIA responses, Privacy Act, and records management.
• Report directly to the General Counsel on unit activities and outcomes.
