Job description

Company Overview

Pantheon Data (a Kenific Holding company) is a private, small business based in the Washington, DC, area. Pantheon Data was founded in 2011, initially providing acquisition and supply chain management services to the US Coast Guard. Our service offerings have grown in the past ten years, including infrastructure resiliency, contact center operations, information technology, software engineering, program management, strategic communications, engineering, and cybersecurity. We have also grown our customer base to include commercial clients. The company has used this experience to expand our service offerings to other agencies within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Defense (DoD), and other Federal Civilian Agencies.

About the Role

A federal acquisition oversight office is standing up a portfolio management framework from scratch based on updated 2025 policy. We are building a team that will design how that organization decides which acquisition pathway a new investment should follow, how its investments get grouped and assessed, how governance decisions get made and by whom, and how the whole thing gets implemented and measured.

You’ll work alongside a senior acquisition portfolio lead. They bring the policy and domain judgment. You bring the ability to turn judgment into an artifact somebody uses.

What You’ll Do:
  • Translate federal acquisition policy into process models, decision trees, and pathway logic that practitioners can apply to real investments.
  • Design the taxonomy for grouping a portfolio of technology and non-technology investments by mission capability area - deciding what the categories are, what belongs in each, and how someone navigates the structure.
  • Map governance processes as swimlanes: who participates, who decides, what moves between them, where the offramps are.
  • Build an implementation roadmap that communicates sequence, dependency, and phasing at a glance.
  • Facilitate and capture working sessions with government stakeholders, rendering discussion into draft structure fast enough to test it in the room.
  • Produce executive-grade briefing material for senior government leadership.
  • Support the inventory and classification of existing investments across the organization.
What We’re Looking For:

We’re hiring someone who does the sense‑making and the rendering - who can engage with unfamiliar policy substance, form a view about how a process actually works, and be wrong in front of a client and iterate. If your instinct on receiving a draft is to improve its typography, this isn’t the role. If your instinct is to ask why step four exists, it is.

You should be comfortable being the person who says "I don't think this diagram is right, because these two paths can't both be true."

Required Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years designing information artifacts in a professional services, consulting, or government context
  • Demonstrated process modeling
  • Experience building taxonomies, classification schemes, or information architecture
  • Senior‑level Visio proficiency (the federal default and a working requirement here)
  • Executive‑grade PowerPoint
  • Strong plain-language writing - these artifacts carry text, and you’ll write it
  • Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC occasionally
How We’ll Evaluate

All finalists will be asked to complete a short exercise: after a brief conversation about a process you don’t already know, you’ll produce a diagram of it. We’re looking at how you handle ambiguity and what questions you ask, not at polish. Expect it to take under two hours.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Federal acquisition, program management, or governance exposure - DHS especially.
  • Current or recent DHS suitability determination.
  • Figma, Illustrator, or equivalent for higher‑fidelity work.
  • Facilitation experience with senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with IT investment management or capital planning.
  • Experience supporting DHS/USCG or any other federal agency.
  • Technical leadership and mentorship with effective negotiation and coordination.
  • Strategic infrastructure planning and clarity in complex documentation.
  • Flexibility across varied stakeholder groups.
  • Integrity in regulatory compliance.
  • Conflict and risk management.
  • Process optimization mindset.

High School Diploma
