We are seeking an experienced Senior Information Assurance/Security Specialist to lead comprehensive evaluations of major information security networks within a DoD environment. This role requires expertise in risk analysis, compliance frameworks, consulting services, and security remediation, ensuring optimal cybersecurity posture for mission-critical defense systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct extensive evaluations of major DoD information security networks, identifying vulnerabilities and risk factors.
- Prepare detailed evaluation reports and present recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Perform trade-off analyses of security products and solutions to determine the best implementation strategies for clients.
- Provide consulting services on a wide range of information assurance and cybersecurity topics.
- Develop remedial action plans and oversee the correction of security shortfalls to maintain compliance.
- Ensure systems adhere to DoD cybersecurity policies, risk management frameworks (RMF), and federal compliance standards.
- Collaborate with network engineers, IT specialists, and cybersecurity professionals to implement secure architectures.
- Support the integration of COTS cybersecurity solutions into defense environments.
- Maintain expertise in encryption protocols, secure software development, and threat intelligence.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Secret Clearance: TS preferred
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree OR
- Master's Degree with 6 years of experience OR
- Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience.
- Experience:
- 6 years of relevant cybersecurity experience with a Master’s Degree OR
- 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Strong understanding of information security principles, risk assessment, and security framework implementation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
- Proficiency in cybersecurity tools, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with classified defense systems and military cybersecurity operations.
- Knowledge of DoD IT compliance regulations.
- Familiarity with cloud security solutions for government applications (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, CEH, or other DoD-approved cybersecurity credentials.
