$90,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr

Summary: The Food Safety Manager is an integral member of the ADS Team and key to the ADS Experience. As the Food Safety Manager, you are responsible for the implementation and establishment of food safety and sanitation practices for multiple locations. The Food Safety Manager ensures all facilities meet established food safety standards and that the packing equipment and facility are audit ready at all times.

As a member of the leadership team, you will participate in the continuous improvement activities of the organization.

Partners with local operations teams to develop, implements and maintains HACCP, GMP and Food Safety training programs for all ADS and affiliated facilities

  • Frequently asked to prepare sites that to pass a Primus or similar food safety audit that have never completed one.
  • Train Senior leadership and operational teams on Food safety standards and expectations.
  • Investigate and document any concerns regarding food safety in growing or packing at all facilities. Monitor food safety resources for potential recall exposure.
  • Maintain the safety, legality and quality of each food and the processes used in their growing and packing.
  • Implements/enforces Product Specification auditing/compliance, Food Safety program compliance.
  • Ensures that all facilities maintain audit-readiness.
  • Reviews growing and packing operations to ensure compliance to food safety standards and GMPs.
  • Responsible for reviewing and onboarding new vendors and suppliers and ensure existing vendors and suppliers maintain appropriate compliance with all ADS food safety requirements.
  • Monitor and review industry innovations, methodology standards and expectations regarding food safety and sanitation. Implementing at all sites to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Advises the Senior Leadership team on potential issues and liability.
  • Performs other duties as directed by Director of Facilities.
  • Competent user of required systems or able to learn:
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook)

  • Knowledgeable of all current USDA Organic Certification requirements. Maintains the facility organic system plan.

This position is 100% remote with expectations of travelling up to 50%. Preferable home base is East Coast, preferably in the South.

Required Education and Experience

  • Five years of prior experience in field is required; experience in a Food Safety Audit Capacity is preferred. Appropriate education can be substituted for experience.
  • Active PCQI and HACCP certifications or ability to get within 6 months of hiring.
  • Knowledge of current Primus GFS standards and current USDA Organic Certification requirements.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, USDA regulations, GMPs, Quality Assurance, and Food Microbiology, environmental testing, sanitation.
  • Demonstrated experience training and teaching staff. Bilingual, American English and Spanish is desired.
