The Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of biomedical informatics methods development and applications. Relevant areas include NLP, AI and Machine Learning, bioinformatics, translational bioinformatics, clinical informatics, clinical research informatics, consumer health informatics, and public health informatics. Candidates with postdoctoral training are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
Teaching responsibilities may include participation in biomedical informatics and computational biology PhD and MS training programs, as well as teaching informatics and data science courses in biomedical graduate programs. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include variations based upon the faculty track. Faculty on the Clinician Educator track typically participate in research as co-investigators. Tenure track faculty oversee extramurally funded research projects as principal investigators. Opportunities exist within both tracks to establish oneself as a research leader in their area of specialization.
