Description:

Qualifications:

Qualifications for this position include:

•Earned doctorate in nursing, public health, or other health related field by time of appointment

• Evidence of research in health and wellness

Desirable Qualifications:

•Eligibility for RN license in Tennessee

This position is open to those who qualify and can be appointed as one of the following ranks in the College of Nursing (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. Rank appointment is dependent on education and qualificationsrelativeto the university and college standards and will bedeterminedby academic leadershipin accordance withfaculty handbook, policies, and procedures.Full Professorsare expected to have five years of experience as associate professor, hold a doctorate or other terminal degree in the discipline, and have achieved and maintain a nationally recognized record in disciplinary research / scholarship / creative activity/ engaged scholarship.Associate Professorsare expected to have five years as an assistant professor, hold the doctorate or other terminal degree of the discipline, have achieved and maintain a recognized record in disciplinary research / scholarship / creative activity/ engaged scholarship, have achieved and maintain a record of institutional, disciplinary, and/or professional service or outreach engagement.Assistant Professorsare expected to hold a doctorate or other terminal degree of the discipline or to present equivalent training and experience as appropriate to the particular appointment. Show promise as teachers, show promise of developing a program in disciplinary research / scholarship / creative activity that is gaining external recognition, have a developing record of institutional, disciplinary, and/or professional service, and show evidence that they work well with colleagues and students in performing their university responsibilities.
