Job summary

NV Energy is seeking a Records Management professional to develop and oversee a risk-based RM program, ensuring compliant retention and disposal of records across electronic and physical formats.

You will work with business leaders to implement ECRM practices, provide training, and support legal productions while promoting a compliant information management culture within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3–5 years of related experience; candidates without a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 7 years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of records management principles and regulatory/compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of records management systems, retention schedules, and library science.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge in data analysis.

Job description

Basic Purpose

Develops, implements and oversees a risk‑based Records and Information Management program to ensure records are maintained and disposed of in compliance with legal discovery, federal, state, and corporate policies and procedures and industry best practices, both to mitigate risk around records retention and to effectuate cost efficiencies. Works independently; receives minimal guidance and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish functions of the job.

Responsibilities
  • Assists with developing and implementing all aspects of the Records Management (RM) program incorporating all electronic and physical records, legal discovery, federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Provides input to recommended action plans/solutions to address identified gaps and weaknesses in the program.
  • Implements tools to measure and monitor the program to provide meaningful reporting for leadership.
  • Identifies records eligible for destruction and manages destruction process in accordance with corporate policy and applicable regulations.
  • Develops retention schedules and compliance plans to ensure departments records are maintained in compliance with regulations and current best practices.
  • Collaborates with business leaders to develop Electronic Content and Records Management (ECRM) best practices for specific business needs; understands business processes/interrelationships across the enterprise.
  • Provides assistance to the legal team in records productions.
  • Establishes positive working relationships with business partners to foster compliance with the information management program and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Promotes and fosters systematic and efficient information management initiatives, including clear and easy‑to‑understand training and education so users may comply with relevant policies and handle records in accordance with the Records Retention Schedule.
  • Develops, documents and conducts progressive levels of training for the records program.
  • Serves as project team lead to develop strategy and processes including process analysis, training and implementation.
  • Advocates for the importance of and compliance with records and information management at all levels within the organization.
  • Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school plus 3–5 years of related experience. Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 7 years of related work experience.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrated knowledge of records management principles; knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements regarding procedures, best practices and records management. Demonstrated technical knowledge of operation of records management systems/software applications, records retention schedules and policies, and library science. Demonstrated skills in working in a team‑oriented environment and independently. Demonstrated skills in bringing together a wide range of ideas, facilitating a win‑win resolution with designated deadlines. Demonstrated organization, communication skills (orally and written), decision‑making, project coordination, attention to detail, customer service, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills

Strong analytical skills and demonstrated knowledge in data analysis.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

General office environment. Moderate amount of lifting (up to 40 pounds) standing and walking involved as essential part of job.
