Job description

Summary

The Inflight Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring the Inflight Safety Team remains compliant with company safety programs, policies, processes, and regulations within Allegiant’s Safety Department.

Minimum Requirements

Combination of education and experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a criminal background check.

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Certification: Yes, must pass Allegiant's Flight Attendant training and maintain currency.

Experience: Minimum two (2) years in aviation, aviation safety, aviation management, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Advanced education may substitute for experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of FAA regulatory guidance.
  • Experience with SMS systems, reporting, training, and monitoring.
  • Understanding of airline operations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain safety data reporting systems.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure; strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility, teamwork, and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, and QA applications.
  • Experience in Computer-Based Training development.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and/or experience in aviation safety or related areas.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement SMS policies and procedures for the Inflight department.
  • Assist with safety debriefs, incident investigations, and report processing.
  • Prepare safety reports, presentations, and data analyses.
  • Train employees on safety policies and conduct safety presentations for new hires.
  • Coordinate safety event reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in safety meetings, initiatives, and industry safety committees.
  • Maintain safety programs and assist with continuous process improvements.
  • Act as a representative in emergency situations as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Office environment; ability to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, operate computers and phones. May lift up to 20 lbs. May require shifts in a 24-hour schedule. Travel may be required.
