Job description

Edge Inference Inc. is building the nationwide AI inference network— a distributed fabric of Inference Points that puts GPU compute within single-digit milliseconds of where inference is actually consumed. Anchored by 348 Prime Group Holdings-owned sites across 28 U.S. states and 3 Canadian provinces, we skip the multi-year site acquisition cycle that constrains every competitor. The land is already ours. What remains is execution: 200 Inference Points energized within 36 months, in batched Deployment Waves, on a cadence that never breaks.

About the Role

The Inference Point Deployment Project Manager runs Deployment Waves from site due diligence on Prime Group parcels through energization — the milestone when an IP goes live and starts serving tokens. This is not one big build managed for three years. It is many small, identical sites running in parallel across multiple states, where the constraint is throughput and repeatability rather than heroic single-project management. You own utility interconnect, permitting, general and electrical contractor management, long-lead GPU and MEP equipment logistics, and the schedule and budget for every site in your wave. You are measured on Inference Points energized per quarter and on cost per MW energized.

Responsibilities

  • Own the deployment schedule and budget for an assigned Deployment Wave — typically 8 to 20 Inference Points across multiple states — from due diligence through energization and handoff to the NIOC.
  • Run site due diligence on candidate Prime Group Holdings parcels: utility capacity, fiber availability, zoning, geotechnical, environmental, stormwater, access, and acoustic constraints, with a go/no-go recommendation per site.
  • Drive utility interconnect from application through energization — load studies, interconnect queue position, transformer and service lead times, and the escalation path when a utility becomes the critical path.
  • Manage permitting and AHJ relationships across many jurisdictions in parallel: building, electrical, mechanical, stormwater, and NFPA 855 BESS approvals, tracked to a common milestone framework rather than jurisdiction by jurisdiction improvisation.
  • Procure and manage general contractors, electrical contractors, and specialty trades against the IP Standard Design, using repeat contracts and master agreements so pricing and crews improve wave over wave.
  • Own long-lead equipment logistics: medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, generators, BESS, CDUs and cooling plant, prefabricated skids, and GPU racks — including release-to-manufacture dates, factory acceptance scheduling, storage, and delivery sequencing to remote sites.
  • Coordinate GPU delivery and installation with the infrastructure and network teams so that racks, fabric, and power land in the right order and the site can serve tokens the week it is energized.
  • Enforce the frozen IP Standard Design in the field — process any requested deviation through change control rather than accepting field-directed changes that break fleet repeatability.
  • Manage cost and schedule reporting across the wave: earned value or milestone-based tracking, change order control, contingency management, and monthly reporting on cost per MW energized to Finance and the CTO.
  • Own construction safety and quality across all wave sites, including contractor OSHA compliance, NFPA 70E requirements for energized work, and a documented quality inspection regime at defined milestones.
  • Coordinate commissioning with the Commissioning Engineer — Level 1 through Level 5 scripts, integrated systems testing, punch list closeout, and formal energization sign-off.
  • Capture lessons learned per site and feed schedule, constructability, and vendor performance findings into the next IPSD release and the next wave's plan.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of construction or deployment project management in data center, telecom, utility, or mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience running multiple parallel sites — a rollout, a portfolio, or a program — not solely single large projects.
  • Utility interconnect experience: load applications, interconnect queues, transformer and switchgear lead times, and utility escalation.
  • Multi-jurisdiction permitting experience with AHJs across several states, including electrical and mechanical approvals.
  • Strong contractor management: GC and electrical contractor procurement, bid leveling, change order negotiation, and field accountability.
  • Long-lead equipment procurement and logistics experience with medium-voltage electrical or mechanical plant.
  • Fluency in schedule and cost controls — CPM scheduling, milestone tracking, contingency management, and monthly owner reporting.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across active Deployment Wave sites.

Preferred Skills

  • PMP, CCM, or equivalent project management certification; OSHA 30.
  • Experience deploying modular, prefabricated, or edge data center products at fleet scale.
  • Familiarity with liquid-cooled GPU infrastructure installation — CDUs, manifolds, coolant fill and flush, and rack integration.
  • BESS deployment experience under NFPA 855, including AHJ education and fire marshal negotiation.
  • Prior owner-side experience at a data center developer, neocloud, or telecom carrier rollout program.
  • Working knowledge of commissioning practice (Level 1–5) and Uptime Institute construction certification.

Highly competitive compensation based on experience.
