The Section Chief will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Infectious Diseases service at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, partnering with departmental and hospital leaders to advance clinical excellence, education, and research.

This role emphasizes quality improvement, patient safety, faculty development, and scholarly activity, with oversight of peer review, adverse events investigations, and the integration of AI-driven decision support within a Learning Health System.

Qualifications

• Current New York Medical License.
• Board certification in Infectious Diseases.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in Infectious Diseases and a commitment to excellence in patient care.
• Leadership experience or demonstrated leadership potential in an academic medical center of comparable healthcare environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, strategic planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide leadership for the Infectious Diseases service and collaborate in developing departmental policies, strategic initiatives, programs, and services.
• Partner with the Chair and hospital leadership to advance priorities and ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Represent the Department on committees and institutional forums as designated by the Chair.
• Support faculty and trainee development and foster scholarly activity and professional growth.
• Oversee quality improvement, peer review, chart review, and patient safety initiatives; investigate adverse events and implement corrective actions.
• Champion integration of AI and clinical decision support within a Learning Health System model across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Lead research strategy including clinical trials, registries/biobanks, and expansion of scholarly activity.
