Job summary

UC San Diego invites applications for an Infectious Diseases Physician-Scientist. The successful candidate will lead transformative research across translational, clinical, global health, and laboratory-based domains while contributing to teaching and mentorship of trainees and fellows.

Clinician duties may be involved depending on clinical needs. Appointments at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be determined by background and experience.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD must be in Infectious Diseases or related field.
• MD candidates must have or be eligible for California medical license.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Infectious Disease and related fields for clinical duties.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative, collaborative research programs in Infectious Diseases and Global Public Health.
• Teach and mentor undergraduate, graduate students, residents, trainees, and Infectious Diseases fellows; contribute to the division's growth.
• Provide clinical care to patients in inpatient or outpatient settings as needed, depending on the department’s needs and the candidate’s training.
