Job summary

The Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine is accepting applications for faculty physicians who will contribute to the clinical, research, and teaching missions of the Division. The primary responsibility will be attending physician coverage of inpatient and outpatient clinical services at Emory University Hospital and affiliated sites in Atlanta.

Supervision and formal teaching of residents, medical students and Infectious Diseases fellows

Qualifications

• Board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine
• Board certified/board eligible in Infectious Diseases by date of hire
• Medical licensure for the State of Georgia and DEA certificates at date of hire
• Three letters of reference

Responsibilities

• Attending physician coverage of inpatient and/or outpatient clinical services at Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital-Midtown, Emory St. Joseph's Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital, and/or the Atlanta VA Medical Center
• Supervision, evaluation and formal teaching of residents, medical students and Infectious Diseases fellows
• Encouragement of development of independent research programs in infectious diseases

Education

Internal Medicine residency (ACGME) – 3 years

Infectious Diseases fellowship – 2 years

Job description

The Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, Emory University School of Medicine, is accepting applications for faculty physicians who will contribute to the clinical, research, and teaching missions of the Division. The primary responsibility of the candidate will be attending physician coverage of the inpatient and/or outpatient clinical services at Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital-Midtown, Emory St. Joseph's Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital, and/or the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Supervision, evaluation and formal teaching of residents, medical students and active Infectious Diseases fellows will also be required. Candidates with an interest in developing active independent research programs in the area of infectious diseases are encouraged. Salary commensurate with experience and education.

Requirements: Candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases by the date of hire. Candidates must obtain medical licensure for the State of Georgia and DEA certificates at the date of hire. Candidates must provide three letters of reference.

Qualifications: Satisfactory completion of three years of Internal Medicine residency training in an ACGME-accredited program. Satisfactory completion of at least two years of Infectious Diseases fellowship training at the date of hire.
