Job summary

Emory University Division of Infectious Diseases seeks faculty physicians to cover inpatient and/or outpatient clinical services at Emory University Hospital and other affiliated centers. You will supervise residents, medical students and Infectious Diseases fellows while contributing to teaching and clinical care.

Candidates with interest in developing independent research programs in infectious diseases are encouraged. Salary commensurate with experience and education.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases by date of hire.
• Must obtain Georgia medical licensure and DEA certificates by date of hire.
• Provide three letters of reference.

Responsibilities

• Attend inpatient and/or outpatient clinical services at Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital-Midtown, Emory St. Joseph's Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital, and Atlanta VA Medical Center.
• Supervise, evaluate and formally teach residents, medical students and Infectious Diseases fellows.
• Support development of independent research programs in infectious diseases.

Job description

The Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, Emory University School of Medicine, is accepting applications for faculty physicians who will contribute to the clinical, research, and teaching missions of the Division. The primary responsibility of the candidate will be attending physician coverage of the inpatient and/or outpatient clinical services at Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital-Midtown, Emory St. Joseph's Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital, and/or the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Supervision, evaluation and formal teaching of residents, medical students and active Infectious Diseases fellows will also be required. Candidates with an interest in developing active independent research programs in the area of infectious diseases are encouraged. Salary commensurate with experience and education.

Requirements

• Candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases by the date of hire.
• Candidates must obtain medical licensure for the State of Georgia and DEA certificates at the date of hire.
• Candidates must provide three letters of reference.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of three years of Internal Medicine residency training in an ACGME-accredited program.
• Satisfactory completion of at least two years of Infectious Diseases fellowship training at the date of hire.
