Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois seeks a Staff Nurse for the Physician Group to deliver direct patient care at the Huntley and McHenry clinics. This full-time position offers 40 hours per week with a 8:30am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday schedule.

You will perform the nursing process, coordinate care, provide patient teaching, triage calls and explain procedures to patients and families while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Current experience (within past five years) or new nursing graduate (within past two years).
• Registered Nurse licensure in Illinois.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR certification.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of patient care by utilizing evidence-based practice to optimize patient safety.
• Follows medication rights and administers medications appropriately based on patient age and condition.
• Assess, analyze, plan and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Educates patients and families; explains procedures and therapies and documents responses.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and department projects.
