Job summary

Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in an ambulatory Infectious Disease clinic. The position performs front and back-end tasks under physician or APP supervision, prepares patients, and assists during examinations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training or verifiable relevant work experience in patient care is required.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for operational issues and reporting to the Nursing Operations Manager or Practice Manager.
• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists the physician or APP during examinations and procedures.
• Documents treatments and patient education in the EMR according to policies.
• Schedules testing and specialty consultations as needed.
• Answers calls professionally and uses clinical judgment for inquiries.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or verifiable applicable work experience in a patient care setting)
