Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for our Infectious Disease department in Wesley Chapel, FL. The role involves patient care under physician/APP supervision in an ambulatory setting, data gathering, and assisting during examinations.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, MA training or equivalent experience, and current BLS certification with an MA certification from recognized bodies within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or verifiable applicable work experience in a patient care setting) is required.
• Maintains current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Certification; and demonstrates ongoing certification with one of the listed MA certs within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists the physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents, treatments, procedures, and patient education according to policies.
• Schedule coordination and communication with patients for tests and specialty consultations.
• Enter medication, laboratory and diagnostic imaging orders into the EMR under provider direction.

Education
