Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health is hiring a Medical Assistant in Wesley Chapel, FL. The role supports patient care under the direction of the physician or APP in an ambulatory setting. Department: Infectious Disease; Full-time, Monday–Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved program (or verifiable work experience in patient care).
• Current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification; if hired after Jan 1, 2015, obtain one of listed certifications within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists physician or APP during examinations and procedures.
• Documents treatments, procedures, and patient education per policies.
• Enter medications, labs and imaging orders into EMR under provider direction.
• Maintain infection control standards and patient safety practices.
