Job summary

Labcorp in Burlington, NC seeks a Technologist Trainee for the Infectious Disease team. Work schedule Tue–Sat, 3:00pm–11:30pm, joining a global leader in laboratory services.

Bachelor’s degree in chemical/biological science or Medical Technology is required; 3+ months of clinical lab experience and ASCP/AMT certification preferred. Training provided; flexible to shift changes as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or Medical Technology.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred; 3+ months clinical lab testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to criteria.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper function.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
• Assist with processing of specimens when required.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
