Job summary

Harris Regional Hospital is seeking an Infection Preventionist. This salaried, full-time role supports infection control and patient safety across the facility.

You will develop and implement policies, surveillance, and reporting systems for infections and communicable diseases, and collaborate with Employee Health. Candidates should have RN license (BSN preferred) or relevant health degree, with infection control cert within 3 years, 5 years hospital or public health surveillance experience,

Qualifications

• Requires current RN license; BSN preferred, or MPH/certified technologist.
• Infection Control Certification within 3 years of employment.
• Minimum five years clinical hospital experience or disease surveillance in public health.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• Strong computer and basic statistics skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements infection control policies.
• Develops systems for identifying, reporting, investigating and controlling infections.
• Assists Employee Health Nurse as time/workload permits.
• Provides concurrent surveillance of infection control activities.
• Maintains a log of incidents related to infections and communicable diseases.
• Monitors infections in the hospital and evaluates hospital-acquired infection.
