Job summary

Evergreen Center for Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an Infection Preventionist to develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control programs. You will be a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator for all staff to ensure a safe environment in our facility.

Qualifications include a nursing license, a nursing/epidemiology/biology/microbiology degree and an infection prevention certification.

Qualifications

• Valid state nursing license.
• Infection prevention certification is required prior to assuming the role.
• Strong clinical, organizational and decision-making skills.
• Experience in long-term care or similar healthcare setting preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of infection control and prevention program to identify and prevent the spread of infections for residents and staff.
• Review, update and direct the implementation of infection control policies and procedures.
• Oversee antimicrobial stewardship, employee health and universal influenza programs.
• Serve as a member of the QA&A committee.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal screening, documentation and immunization reporting.
• Perform rounds to identify hazards, monitor infection control practices and educational needs.
• Develop and deliver staff education programs to all staff.
• Track, analyze and present surveillance trends and develop action plans with QAPI.
• Maintain records and reporting as required by regulations.
