Job summary

Community Hospital in Grand Junction, CO is seeking a part-time Infection Preventionist RN to lead surveillance, analysis, education and recommendations to prevent infections onsite.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, an unrestricted Colorado Nursing License, CIC certification, and three years of Infection Prevention experience in an acute care setting plus five years of clinical practice. Relocation to Grand Junction is required before starting work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Unrestricted Colorado Nursing License is required.
• Current CIC certification is required.
• Three (3) years Infection Prevention experience in an acute care setting, five (5) years clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Case finding, surveillance, analysis and interpretation, reporting, inspection, education, consultation, and recommendations to prevent and control infections.
• Ensure CH meets Infection Prevention Standards applied by external agencies (CDC, CMS, Joint Commission, WHO, APIC, OSHA).
• Conduct ongoing surveillance and support epidemiological studies to identify infection sources.
• Develop and initiate isolations techniques aligned with current practice standards; ensure proper isolation procedures to provide optimum patient care.
• Collaborate with CDPHE, Mesa County Health Department, CHA, and physician offices for Infection Prevention program.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Unrestricted Colorado Nursing License

Current CIC certification
