Job summary

The Alps at Wayne Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced RN to lead the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program as a Full-Time Infection Preventionist. You will oversee surveillance, data analysis, staff education, and regulatory compliance to protect resident safety.

Qualifications

• RN license in New Jersey is required.
• Successful completion of an Infection Preventionist training course is required.
• Infection prevention experience in SNF/rehabilitation or healthcare setting preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state infection control regulations.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program according to CDC, CMS, OSHA, and NJ DoH guidelines.
• Conduct surveillance for healthcare-associated infections and communicable diseases.
• Monitor, analyze, and trend infection data and implement reduction strategies.
• Investigate potential outbreaks and coordinate interventions.
• Educate and train staff on infection prevention practices, isolation procedures, hand hygiene, and PPE.
• Conduct audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Nursing leadership, Medical Director, QAPI, and interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in QAPI initiatives.
• Maintain documentation and regulatory records.
• Stay current with evolving infection prevention guidelines and best practices.

The Alps at Wayne Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team as a Full-Time Infection Preventionist. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinically driven nurse who is passionate about infection prevention, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and resident safety within a skilled nursing and rehabilitation environment.

The Infection Preventionist is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program while working collaboratively with nursing leadership, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to maintain the highest standards of resident care.

Responsibilities of Infection Prevention RN

• Oversee and manage the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program in accordance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and New Jersey Department of Health guidelines.

• Conduct ongoing surveillance for healthcare-associated infections and communicable diseases.

• Monitor, analyze, and trend infection data while implementing strategies to reduce infection rates.

• Investigate potential outbreaks and coordinate appropriate interventions.

• Educate and train employees on infection prevention practices, isolation procedures, hand hygiene, and PPE.

• Conduct infection prevention audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Medical Director, Quality Assurance Committee, and interdisciplinary team.

• Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.

• Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and required regulatory records.

• Stay current with evolving infection prevention guidelines and implement best practices throughout the facility.

Qualifications for IP Registered Nurse

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey required.

• Successful completion of an Infection Preventionist training course is required.

• Previous Infection Prevention experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, long-term care, or healthcare setting strongly preferred.

• Thorough knowledge of CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state infection control regulations.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to educate, mentor, and collaborate effectively with clinical staff.

• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
