Cypress Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington, NC is seeking an RN to lead Infection Prevention and Control efforts. This role focuses on safeguarding residents, ensuring regulatory compliance, and educating staff to uphold high clinical standards.

The Infection Preventionist will monitor surveillance data, oversee outbreaks, and collaborate with clinical leaders to drive quality outcomes and safety across the facility.

Qualifications

• Current and active North Carolina RN license required.
• Infection Preventionist certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of infection prevention regulations and practices.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience with staff education and compliance monitoring preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the facility Infection Prevention and Control Program.
• Monitor infection surveillance data and identify trends.
• Ensure compliance with CDC, OSHA, CMS, and state regulations.
• Conduct infection control audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Educate and train staff on infection prevention protocols and best practices.
• Oversee outbreak investigations and response procedures.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to promote resident safety.
• Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and infection tracking logs.
• Monitor antibiotic stewardship initiatives.
• Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
