Responsibilities

• The Infection Preventionist (IP) manages the nursing center's Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP), serving as a practitioner, resource, educator, and facilitator across multiple locations.
• Focus areas include Infection Prevention, Control Activities, Outcome-Process Surveillance, Outbreak Management, and Employee Health.
• Support new hire orientation by providing infection prevention and control training.
• Create and implement education programs based on identified infection control needs from QAPI, rounding, quality measures, or other sources.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain the IPCP to ensure quality patient care related to infection and communicable disease prevention and control.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN licensure by the State Board of Nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Complete specialized training in infection prevention and control within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of three years of full-time or equivalent nursing experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet with staff working evening and night shifts.
