Job summary
MUSC Health seeks an Infection Preventionist to join our team, influencing patient safety, clinical practice, and quality outcomes across the organization. You will partner with physicians and clinical teams, educate staff, investigate concerns, translate surveillance data into actions, and provide on-call support to promote evidence-based infection prevention across departments.
Education in Nursing, Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field required; CIC preferred.
Qualifications
- Degree in Nursing, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field/experience required.
- Five years of relevant clinical experience for non-nurse applicants; broad nursing experience for RN applicants.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate infection prevention data to plan and evaluate practices.
- Serve as a consultant and resource for employees and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
- Educate staff and provide guidance on infection prevention practices across departments.
