Job summary

Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL is seeking an Infection Control Preventionist to lead surveillance, prevention and control efforts hospital-wide. You will develop and implement policies, educate staff, and coordinate with committees to ensure compliance with CDC/OSHA/ACHA standards.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a life science, nursing licensure if RN, and 2+ years in healthcare with infection control exposure; CIC is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a life science or related field.
• RN licensure required if RN.
• Minimum 2 years in healthcare; infection control experience preferred.
• Formal APIC courses in Infection Control desirable.
• CIC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Surveillance, prevention and control of infection hospital-wide.
• Assist with policy/procedure development and implementation.
• Educate staff, physicians, patients, volunteers and visitors.
• Coordinate infection control activities with committees and staff.
• Respond to potential exposures and communicate with stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in medicine, nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, public health or related life science

RN licensure (if registered nurse)

Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred

APIC infection control coursework desirable
