Job summary

Genesis Healthcare seeks an Infection Preventionist to oversee the IPCP across nursing centers, focusing on prevention, surveillance, outbreak management and employee health. The role requires RN licensure and IPC training within 90 days, plus three years of nursing experience.

Responsibilities include orienting new hires and implementing education programs based on QAPI and quality measures, ensuring high standards of patient care and infection control.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current registered nurse licensure.
• Must complete specialized training in infection prevention and control within 90 days of hire.
• A minimum of three years full-time nursing experience is required.
• Must be able to work flexible hours to meet with employees working evening and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support new hire orientation by providing infection prevention and control training for newly hired employees.
• Create and implement education programs in response to identified infection control needs identified through QAPI, rounding, center quality measures, or other means.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain the IPCP to ensure the quality of patient care as it relates to the investigation, control, and prevention of infections and communicable diseases within the nursing center.
