Responsibilities include surveillance, data analysis, outbreak investigations, and collaboration with Medical Directors and CIC. A Bachelor’s degree and clinical experience in acute care are required; certification in infection control is preferred.

• Acts as a resource for problem solving issues related to infection prevention.
• Completes 24/7 on call assignments as scheduled.
• Ensures compliance with CMS, state and local health departments and The Joint Commission.
• Performs surveillance rounds on designated units and high risk areas.
• Collects and analyzes infection information for patients and staff.
• Leads staff in infection prevention practices and serves as subject matter expert.
• Investigates outbreaks and significant infection incidents.
• Implements corrective action plans and monitors outcomes.
• Presents findings to CIC and other stakeholders.
• Collaborates with Corporate Health on staff exposure issues.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology or Allied Health related field
