Job summary

You will serve as an education consultant to staff, physicians and volunteers, coordinate with the Infection Control Committee, and respond to exposures with timely communication and action. A healthcare background, active licensure, BLS, and infection control experience are essential; CIC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medicine, nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, public health or related life science field.
• Current RN license where the facility is located.
• Minimum two years' healthcare experience; infection control experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; APIC courses in Infection Control encouraged; CIC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Surveillance, prevention and control of infection hospital-wide.
• Assist with policy and procedure development and implementation to meet standards.
• Primary education consultant to staff, physicians, patients, volunteers and visitors.
• Coordinate infection control activities with the Infection Control Committee, Medical Staff and hospital employees.
• Respond to potential exposures by communicating with patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and regulatory agencies.

Education

Bachelor's degree in medicine, nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, public health or related life science field

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) where facility is located

BLS certification

2+ years healthcare experience

APIC Infection Control courses

Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred
