Monroe Health & Rehab Center in Dayton, OH seeks an experienced Infection Preventionist (RN) to oversee the facility's infection prevention and control program in compliance with applicable regulations.

You will develop training plans, assess needs, supervise nursing staff, and ensure policies are followed to maintain the highest quality of care across shifts. CPR/BLS and state RN license required; training will be provided as needed.

• Must possess current, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice.
• Active CPR or BLS certification required.
• Specialized infection prevention training or willingness to complete within first week.
• Basic computer skills; able to navigate LMS and EHR systems.
• Strong English communication and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with supervisors and staff across shifts; adhere to safety policies.
• Commitment to hours as scheduled and patient care standards.

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of the Infection Preventionist’s job is to oversee the planning, organization, development, direction, and evaluation of the infection prevention and control program throughout the Community in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations.This includes ensuring that current standards of practice related to infection prevention and control are incorporated in resident care and employee actions and identifying Community training needs based on infection surveillance and process/outcome measurement, developing training plans and materials, as well as evaluating efficacy of training provided. You will also assess resident’s needs, develop an individualized care plan, administer nursing care, evaluate nursing care and supervise nursing assistants and other personnel in the delivery of nursing care. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our community, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services or designee to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures.

Education/Qualifications:

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN within the state in which you work.
• Maintain an active CPR or BLS Certification.
• Be qualified by education, training, experience certification, or a combination of these to meet the position requirements.
• Must have completed (or complete within first week of hire) specialized training in infection prevention and control, including state-specific training required.
• Must have basic computer skills and ability to navigate/learn to navigate various software programs, including Learning Management software and the electronic health record.
• Must be able to communicate in English and have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must possess and demonstrate the ability to carry out both verbal and written directions. Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and community staff in the performance of duties.
• Ability to observe proper safety and sanitary techniques.
• Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/assignment.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.

Shift & Wage:

• Full-Time Opportunity Available
• Shifts Needed: Monday - Friday, 8:00a - 4:00p
• Wage: Based on Experience
