Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is seeking an RN to join our acute care team. The role emphasizes coordination of postpartum or labor and delivery care, patient advocacy, and collaboration with the nursing and medical staff to maintain a safe, compassionate environment.

Responsibilities include applying the nursing process, supervising support staff, and ensuring compliance with Florida Nurse Practice Act and AHA standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Postpartum or L&D experience.
• Two (2) or more years of RN experience.
• Licensed as an RN in accordance with Florida’s Nurse Practice Act.
• BLS or CPR certification from an AHA instructor.
• Other specialized life support requirements designated by work area.

• Provide care through collaboration with healthcare team members and the autonomous application of the nursing process.
• Coordinate and delegate care in a safe, secure, and clean environment.
• Lead, mentor, and role model for other members of the healthcare team.
• Respect patient rights, dignity, values, confidentiality, and expressed needs.
• Maintain focus on comfort, pain relief, and anxiety reduction using evidenced-based practice and information technologies.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

• Associate degree in nursing.

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.

Required Experience:

• Postpartum or L&D

Preferred Experience:

• Two (2) or more years of RN experience.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Licensed as an RN in accordance with Florida’s Nurse Practice Act.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an accredited American Heart Association (AHA) instructor.
• Other specialized life support requirements designated by work area.
