Base pay range

$55,270.00/yr - $63,500.00/yr

Lead infection prevention and control efforts across inpatient units, supporting safe and effective patient care through evidence-based protocols and surveillance systems.

Monitor and report on multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs), surgical site infections (SSIs), and other healthcare-associated infections in accordance with NHSN standards.

Collaborate with clinical teams on best practices for wound care, drive compliance with infection control guidelines, and champion ongoing education and risk reduction initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee infection prevention and control (IPC) practices across inpatient departments
• Conduct surveillance and reporting of SSIs, MDROs, and other HAIs using NHSN protocols
• Collaborate with wound care teams to ensure IPC standards in inpatient wound care
• Develop and deliver infection prevention training to staff at all levels
• Investigate infection trends and implement corrective action plans
• Review, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements (CMS, TJC, CDC, OSHA)
• Serve as the infection control subject matter expert during audits and inspections
• Work cross-functionally to ensure adherence to safety and quality benchmarks
• Maintain documentation and data reports for internal tracking and external compliance

What You Need to Have

• CIC (Certification in Infection Control) – Required
• Experience with inpatient wound care practices
• Knowledge of MDRO management and NHSN surveillance
• Understanding of SSI prevention protocols and reporting systems
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to interpret clinical data and translate into actionable strategies

Nice to Have

• Acute care or specialty hospital experience
• Experience using electronic infection tracking systems
• Familiarity with EMRs and digital surveillance tools
• Background in epidemiology or public health preferred
• Participation in quality improvement or risk mitigation initiatives

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Ability to walk hospital floors and inpatient areas wearing required PPE

• Occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs may be required during inspections or assessments
