Job summary

Majestic Care of Bloomington seeks an Infection Prevention Staff Development Nurse (IPSD) to lead infection prevention and staff training. You will design and implement education programs, coordinate orientation, and ensure tracking and regulatory compliance across shifts.

The role includes hands-on clinical instruction, reporting infection data trends, and collaborating with the DNS to verify nursing competency. Strong focus on adult learning and patient safety in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Active RN or LPN license by State Board; in good standing.
• CPR teaching certificate required to train staff.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds and perform clinical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide compliance training and education to care team members.
• Maintain training documentation per regulatory requirements.
• Develop a clinical orientation program with HR.
• Deliver hands-on orientation and CPR training to licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Coordinate new hire/job-specific training and safety education.
• Assess resident needs and design targeted training programs.
• Work with DNS to evaluate nursing staff competency.
• Assist in floor coverage during staffing shortages when needed.
• Monitor infection data and communicate trends to the team.
• Collaborate on infection risk assessment and control strategies.
