Job summary

Majestic Care of Connersville is seeking an Infection Prevention Staff Development Nurse (IPSD) to lead infection control and staff education across our community. The role combines clinical duties with training delivery to ensure high standards of resident safety and regulatory compliance.

You will develop orientation programs, conduct on-floor training, monitor performance, and collaborate with nursing leadership to maintain competency among licensed and certified staff.

Qualifications

• Current LPN or RN license in the state of employment.
• Valid CPR teaching certificate.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with infection control training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care team members receive compliance training and education.
• Ensure training documentation complies with state, federal, and compliance requirements.
• Monitor care team member performance and address compliance issues.
• Develop and conduct a clinical orientation program with HR for new staff.
• Provide hands-on clinical orientation and instruction to licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Coordinate nursing staff training including CPR and new hire education.
• Assess resident needs and design training programs for staff.
• Collaborate with DNS to ensure competency of nursing staff and CNAs.
• Support nursing team on the floor during staffing shortages when needed.
• Collect, analyze and report infection data and trends to staff and practitioners.
• Consult on infection risk assessment and prevention strategies.
• Ensure infection control reports show infections types and trends.
• Assist in budgeting and control expenditures for the department.
• Coordinate OSHA/Risk Management trainings with HR.
• Ensure curriculum meets state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
• Plan state and federally required in-service programs.
• Coordinate Relias utilization for onboarding and offboarding.
• Work with HR and Maintenance to provide annual OSHA trainings.
• Ensure PPE supplies are available for staff.
