Job summary

Majestic Care of Bloomington is seeking an Infection Prevention Staff Development Nurse (IPSD) to join our team and uphold our core values. The IPSD will assess, plan, implement, and coordinate the community’s infection control and staff development program while performing clinical tasks.

This role requires an active RN or LPN license, CPR certification, and experience in long-term care or geriatric settings.

Qualifications

• Requires active RN or LPN license in state of employment.
• CPR teaching certificate required.
• Must be able to push, pull and lift at least 25 pounds.
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric population preferred.
• Two years nursing experience with infection control training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care team members receive compliance training and education.
• Maintain documentation for training per state, federal, and compliance requirements.
• Monitor performance and address compliance issues.
• Develop and conduct clinical orientation with HR Manager for new staff.
• Provide hands-on clinical orientation to licensed, unlicensed, and CNA staff.
• Coordinate new staff training and CPR training.
• Assess resident needs related to staff abilities and design training programs.
• Ensure clinical competency of nursing staff through observed evaluations and annual competency assessments.
• Support nursing team on the floor during critical staffing levels.
• Analyze infection data and trends for nursing staff and practitioners.
• Consult on infection risk assessment, prevention, and control strategies.
• Ensure infection control reports identify infection types and trends.
• Assist in department budget preparation and cost containment.
• Coordinate OSHA/Risk Management program documentation.
• Ensure educational curriculum meets state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
• Plan and conduct required in-service programs.
• Coordinate training for Nursing Assistants.
• Track Relias usage for onboarding and offboarding.
• Collaborate with HR Manager and Maintenance Director on annual OSHA trainings.
• Ensure PPE supply is adequate.
