Job summary

Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) is seeking an Infection Preventionist to promote patient and staff safety through identifying infection risks and developing prevention strategies at the facility level.

The role includes data collection/analysis, education for staff and families, and collaboration with the Infection Control Committee to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in a related field with experience working in Infection Prevention required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree and current license in Nursing preferred; OR Bachelor’s Degree and current ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and oversight for Infection Prevention activities.
• Lead facility-level Infection Prevention goals and program development.
• Coordinate surveillance methods to monitor infection rates with the Infection Prevention Committee.
• Collaborate with Employee Health to provide preventive health services to staff.
• Facilitate annual review of Infection Prevention policies and the Infection Prevention Manual.
• Serve as a consultant to clinical areas regarding Infection Prevention issues.
• Report to the Regional and/or System Director of Infection Prevention.
• Travel to other ARH facilities as needed to provide coverage or address outbreaks.
