Job summary

USA Health is seeking a dedicated Infection Preventionist to lead surveillance, analysis, and prevention efforts across Mobile and surrounding areas. You will collaborate with clinical teams to implement evidence-based strategies and improve patient safety.

The role includes education for healthcare personnel, participation in quality improvement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. A clinical licensure and CIPC certification are required or will be pursued within three years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing, allied health, a physical or natural science, or related field with 4 years related acute care experience.
• Current licensure in clinical field; CIPC certification within 3 years of employment.
• Comparable education/experience may substitute for above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Surveils infection data, analyzes trends, and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Maintains ongoing surveillance for healthcare-associated infections and MDROs.
• Leads investigations and management of infection-related events and outbreaks.
• Develops and evaluates infection prevention plans aligned with regulatory standards.
• Provides education and guidance to healthcare personnel on infection prevention measures.
• Participates in quality improvement, accreditation readiness, and regulatory initiatives.
• Executes rounds to monitor maintenance bundle compliance and environment of care.
