Job summary

Qualifications

• Nursing license required or eligible in the state.
• Certification or formal training in infection prevention.
• Experience or training in infection control and prevention.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements infection prevention and control program to prevent infections.
• Establishes facility-wide systems for prevention, identification, reporting and control of infections.
• Oversees antibiotic stewardship and related policies.
• Monitors activities that increase infection risk (catheters, wound care, incontinence care).
• Leads Infection and Prevention Control Committee and creates improvement plans.
• Participates in QA and facility assessment activities.
• Provides education on infection control to staff, residents, and families.
