Qualifications

• Current nursing license in good standing.
• Valid BLS Certification (CPR) required.
• Associate degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Clinical Laboratory Science or related field.
• Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control is required; CIC preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge with analytical skills and ability to act on trends.
• Excellent communication and collaboration to educate staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate, monitor, and report trends in healthcare-associated infections.
• Collaborate with facility leadership and clinical teams to implement infection control practices.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with infection prevention policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and evaluate infection control initiatives to reduce risk and improve safety.
• Provide staff education and training on infection prevention practices.
• Participate in the facility's Quality Assessment and Assurance (QAA) committee.
• Conduct surveillance, audits, and assessments of infection control effectiveness.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert on infection prevention guidance across the organization.
