Job summary

McPherson Hospital, Inc. is seeking an Infection Control Nurse to supervise infection prevention activities, perform risk assessments, and ensure compliance with CMS/CDC standards.

The role requires an RN with at least 3 years of healthcare experience (infection control preferred) and involves leading training, policy development, and committees to protect patient safety across the hospital in Kansas.

Qualifications

• RN with nursing degree and license
• Minimum 3 years healthcare experience, infection control preferred
• Strong teaching and training abilities required

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement infection control orientation programs
• Develop and enforce infection control policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (CMS/CDC)
• Coordinate annual PPE training and education sessions
• Lead infection control training and committee activities
• Apply epidemiological methods to design and evaluate control strategies
• Notify health departments of reportable diseases per protocol
• Support CPT/QAPI and hospital quality initiatives
• Complete surveillance activities for the facility
