Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Registered Nurse Infection Preventionist to lead infection prevention efforts, coordinate education, and supervise infection control practices across the continuum of care.

This role collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to influence care outcomes, adhere to established policies, and support organization-wide performance improvement through IPC decisions.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency for direct patient care.
• Nursing degree from ACEN/CCNE accredited program or equivalent path.
• Current, full, active nursing license in the United States.
• GNT exception allows temporary appointment while pursuing licensure.
• Completion of APIC Training or equivalent IPC training.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate infection prevention activities and education.
• Supervise infection control practices consistent with VA policies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve care outcomes.
• Support hospital- and system-wide IPC initiatives and data-driven decisions.
